London’s West End Theatre through the Years

Posted by admin on July 30, 2010 in Entertainment Infos, Life Of Recreation

London, though it conjures up the picture of a bustling, thriving metropolis is home to some exceptional theatres, shows, and musical theatre. A show in the West End is an awesome expense for its producer due to its stunning real life sets, innovative style and long running aspect.

Theatrical performances in London reflect the country’s rich culture, history and politics. The playwrights and the poets always draw out the best in their creative ability and depict the quality life of the individuals in London. Then again, theatre wasn’t discovered in London. Theatres, shows and plays started off in Ancient Egypt. Long musicals lead the West End theatre culture. The classic quality that was present in the Elizabethan times however, is still there many years after.

To sense the energetic culture, you would have to check out the West End Theatre district at the very least once in your lifetime. It’s a great holiday spot as you can experience the many plays, dine at the finest restaurants and stay in comfort in Londons star hotels. Given that popular theatres and plays greatly impact the way people dress, lots of fashion boutiques in West End have popular accessories and dresses.

The musical that has been running continuously for just about 25 years is called Les Miserables’. The show has not too long ago become even more spectacular with innovative technology and re-imaged scenery that was influenced by the paintings of Victor Hugo. This show is breaking all the records in the UK and is applauded by critics and fans the same. In addition, this show is performed by two productions at the same time in the same town.

The priciest show to ever be created in the West End was Lord of the Rings totalling an estimated 8 million pounds. This edition with its cast of 50 and magnificent high-tech special effects has mesmerized the entire earth. It had the audience screaming for joy and thrilled them to the bone with its realistic special effects.

Agatha Christie’s dark murder mystery play with an intricate plot, named the Mousetrap opened in 1954 and has been going since that time. The audience is persuaded not to reveal the last part, that involves a twist in the tale.

‘Theatre Royal’ located on Drury Lane is believed to be the oldest theatre in the West End. It is some 344 years old. The longest length of a play based on the Guinness Book of World Records was about 29 hours.

The musicals normally continue for a long period. The changes in these musicals though rare can happen with some productions closing up and new ones opening. You can visit the websites of different theatres and decide on the show that you want to watch. Depending on the performance that you want to see you can plan your holiday. The shows in West End are played throughout the week from Monday to Saturday with Sunday being a holiday.

The up and Coming Celebrities of West End Theatre

Posted by admin on May 30, 2010 in Entertainment Infos, Life Of Recreation

There are scores of bright innovative up and coming starlets in London’s West End Theatre at the moment. In this article, three contemporary plays are discussed with the characters that are making them dazzle in. These include The Boy, Fatal Attraction and Dirty Dancing with rising personalities such as Nicholas Hoult, Martin Harvey and Hannah Vassallo all of which are most certainly worth seeing.

The rising Stars of West End Theatre give stunning entertainment. Each play comes with modern and engaging interpretation of thoughts and concepts from our contemporary culture. Other plays take another look at plays from history. These plays offer new insights into legendary and outstanding plays and play-writes.

I had the opportunity to view Nicholas Hoult many years previously when he played with Hugh Grant in the British movie, ‘About a Boy’. Nicholas Hoult was 11 years old in those days. Despite this he was capable of to get across the psychological expression of needs and lust for connection that can just be performed by an experienced actor. Yet again he was just 11 years old at that time. It was an auspicious start for the young actor. He continued to work in a number of very good movies.

What is new and interesting is that Nicholas Hoult will star in his West End debut in the play ‘The Boy’. He will be performing with the well known actor Mel Giedroyc. This is a innovative play. It is usually very fascinating to attend innovative plays. You don’t know if you will be witnessing a brilliant interpretation of some concept and unique emotions, and leave the theatre entertained with concept provoking ideas. Or you will depart the theater grateful that the play is finally finished and you are released from that confined seat.

In contrast, the play Fatal Attraction is a play which is influenced by and a remake of the motion picture by the same name, Fatal Attraction. The Rising Actors of West End Theatre in this play have not been publicised. While the motion picture’s first author, James Dearden, has written the play, he has produced a number of alterations in the character progression. The play will walk a fine line with being accurate to the grisly practices of the film and a more palatable sanitized model that might be more valued by existing London viewers. Older plays that are remade speak to fresh people. To entertain new viewers, it is regularly essential to make improvements in both the plot and character progression.

Current growing Celebrities of the West End Theatre are Martin Harvey as Johnny Castle and Hannah Vassallo as Frances Baby Houseman in Dirty Dancing. Dirty Dancing brings back to life the romantic story of two young people who fall in love. The play stays true to the original motion picture. The dancing and the sound track are excellent. The musical tract is outstanding. Quite a number of the songs are current today, and they will move you today as they did in the 1980’s at the films.

EW Fails to Stifle Massive Seeker Fan Community Response

Posted by admin on April 30, 2010 in Entertainment Infos, Web Of Marketing

Legend of the Seeker may have been cancelled, but the fans are not listening. If you watch Legend of the Seeker be sure you catch all the shows this season because rumor has it that the show will not be returning in the Fall. After the Tribune Broadcasting company went into bankrupcty the Tribune Station Group abruptly announced it would no longer carry Legend of the Seeker, setting into motion a sequence of unfortunate events.

Earlier this week Entertainment Weekly announced the rumor that ABC Studios would shut down production on the syndicated television show because they cannot find a new distributor for the Fall season. Although Seeker fans had sprung into action after the Tribune announcement, their efforts to save the show went largely unheralded. This time, however, the Internet felt a tremble in its fabric.

The very sizable fan community began Tweeting and blogging about saving their show with a frenzy seldom seen in online science fiction fandom. This is the kind of reaction that only erupts when thousands of people suddenly realize they may have waited too long to do something. The newly created Save The Seeker blog has provided almost hourly updates on new strategies, resources, and ideas.

The reinvigorated campaign to save the show sprang to life in a little-known forum devoted to the show. It’s better known now. As of this writing, there have been about 23,000 views of the forum’s “WarWagon” thread and almost 700 posts. Another Website has been collecting donations to purchase an advertisement in Variety, and that project in turn inspired a spoof ad on Craigslist that puts a slightly humorous touch on a very desperate situation.

Entertainment Weekly seems to have been caught by surprise by the overwhelming reaction on the Net. Actors and journalists with large followings have begun retweeting the #saveourseeker campaign slogan. So EW struck back on Thursday with insults in an attempt to make the Seeker fan community look small and ineffective. This lapse in professionalism from a well-respected entertainment site implies that maybe the people at EW aren’t too sure of their information after all. They seem to feel if they say it often enough their rumor will become the truth.

Or maybe, as the SaveTheSeeker blog suggests, EW is just trolling for links and page views. If so, that is a very cheap trick to play amidst the uproar. So add this voice to the campaign too. Save The Seeker!

Shakira Annouces Details of Forthcoming Hit Record

Posted by admin on December 23, 2009 in Entertainment Infos

International Superstar Shakira announces her brand new single Did It Again, available from December 2009. Did It Again follows her massive hit She Wolf, which remained in the UK top 5 for 5 weeks. The album She Wolf entered the album chart at number 4 making it Shakira’s fastest selling album to date in the UK. The video for Did It Again was directed by Jake Nava. Needless to say, it is just as hot, innovative and mind-blowing as the much talked about video for She Wolf.

2009 is the year of the She Wolf, not only has the album gained commercial success, but it was released to incredible reviews.

Shakira boasts a string of chart-topping hits in both English and Spanish and sales of over 50 million records. Her last project, Oral Fixation Volumes 1&2, has sold in excess of 8 million albums worldwide with the singles La Tortura and Hips Don’t Lie having earned over 10 million digital downloads.
Grammy-winning musician Shakira took the stage in England on Monday - but not to sing. In a speech at Oxford University, she put out a call for universal access to education as a tool for world peace. “That is how I want the youth of 2060 to see us: That our mission for global peace consisted of sending 30,000 educators to Afghanistan, not 30,000 soldiers,” said Shakira, who was invited by the Oxford Student Union. “That in 2010, world education became more important than world domination.”

Quarterly Comic Book Titles

Posted by admin on December 1, 2009 in Better Books, Entertainment Infos

I originally wrote this several years ago, as you can probably tell from the dated references. It’s fun to read in retrospect though.

Waiting for the next installment of “Secret War”, I decided it was time for a rant. Why would anyone put out a quarterly comic? It just isn’t natural to wait three months for the next installment in a serial. That is four comics per year. This kind of schedule has plagued several good projects in the last few years.

Bill Willingham’s “Pantheon” came out every third month. This twelve issue mini-series was one-of-a-kind, complete with a checkoff list so you could keep track of the characters as they died off. But by the time the next due date rolled around every three, I had almost forgot I was interested. If you were in to the end, you had to wait around a full three years for the payoff. I fell out of the loop, though a friend of mine toughed it out and I eventually read the entire run.

Alan Moore’s work on The Youngblood and Supreme had the same delays. They were great comics. In both cases, Mr. Moore took failed premises and made them highly readable. But due to the implosions at Image Comics at the time, it took two and sometimes three months for the next installment to arrive. As far as I know, both series eventually just ended, without any warning.

Now I understand there is a big difference in the late comic and the quarterly. Marvel is reliable and the “Secret War” will be finished. But I just cannot understand why Marvel Comics would choose to release a big seller on such a schedule. In many ways, it is more inexplicable than the aforementioned examples. It compare it to the television show that is continually pre-empted by the network. How do you expect to build an audience?

If you enjoyed reading my thoughts here, you might also enjoy some of my thoughts on Superman’s costume.

Horoscopes Use Scientific Approaches

Posted by admin on November 22, 2009 in Entertainment Infos

As any science astrology uses special approaches and instruments to foretell the future. Many well-known people took into consideration the astrologists’ advice when making decisions. Horoscopes are a diagram showing the positions of stars and planets at the time of an event. Such an event could be a person’s birth or other event of importance. Creating horoscopes is a method of looking into the future and foretelling events. The events are related to some points in time and form the grounds of astrological prognosis. The horoscope is interpreted by means of system of signs or by means of calendar significance. Predictions can be based on celestial influences related to the position of the Sun on the day of birth.

Horoscope uses map of the heavens over a particular place at a particular time. In most cases the Earth is in the center. The positions of planets are shown on the map as well as calculated indices such as lunar nodes, midlevel, zodiac signs, stars and others. Astrologists determine the angular relations of planets and other points. The word “horoscope” means “observer of the hour of birth” and is borrowed from Greek.

Astrology as a science uses various concepts. Time and place of event, called “native”, is placed on the map and is regarded as the center of “celestial sphere”. This sphere is described by a radius. Upon this radius appear objects differently placed from the native. The Earth’s equator is projected into space. The Earth and the Sun with their orbits determine the plane of ecliptic Horizon is centered on the native tangentially to the Earth. All these tools help to make the horoscopes precise and reliable.

Astrology: How it Can Help Your Spiritual Journey

Posted by admin on September 17, 2009 in Entertainment Infos

There is a very spiritual and esoteric side of astrology that is not well known to the general public. Much knowledge has been channeled down in the past century and those that want to find answers to secrets that have been hidden for ages can. You can develop personal power through getting in touch with different planets at special times of the day.

It is common knowledge with astrologers that there is no coincidence between the discovery of planets and the conscious development of the human race. Planets have been discovered as the scientific instruments have developed, yet many spiritual astrologers will tell you that the planets did not want to be discovered until humanity was ready to incorporate the essence of what they have to bring. We can see the sun, moon, Venus, mercury, mars, Jupiter and Saturn with the naked eye. As Uranus, Neptune and Pluto were unveiled so was the corresponding principles brought forth in humanity.

Pluto as that body in the sky brings to us a magical and mystical side of manifestation. Great spiritual beings can move into other realms, time travel, create a gold ring out of thin air, heal the sick and master other miraculous powers. It is possible to tap into the power and mystery of Pluto.

What is personal power? Personal power has several definitions yet one is the ability to call forth the power that you want and need to accomplish whatever you set your mind to.

Power is under the domain of Pluto. Individuals who were born with a strong Pluto have an easier time in manifesting what they want if they have become conscious of this energy within, If they are not conscious of it, they will find struggles with others a constant theme in their lives.

Yet even if Pluto is not strong in your chart, you can consciously pull in the energy of Pluto and learn how to focus it towards your goals.

You will need a simple astrology calculation program. Next you will need to know the position and placement of Pluto in your natal chart. There will be 8 times each day that you will be able to tap into Pluto and channel the power and gift from that planet. When Pluto is rising, which means it is on the ascendant, when Pluto is on the mid heaven, setting, on the descendent and on the IC, the fourth house cusp. Then again all these positions are at the degree of your natal Pluto. For example, if transiting Pluto is at 4 degrees of Capricorn, you will want to find out when it will rise, be at the mid heaven, set, and at the IC. You will do this using your astrology program. Second set of times, will be the degree of your natal Pluto, if your natal Pluto is 2 degrees Libra, find out at what times of the day 2 degrees Libra is rising, on the mid heaven, setting and the IC. These times will give you several to choose from, the preference would be for transiting Pluto rising.
